Galápagos Islands Cruises

Discover the Ecological Wonderland

An oasis for nature lovers, Galápagos Islands is a volcanic archipelago where thriving wildlife and marine life find refuge. This undisturbed pocket of the world will open up a mysterious land to curious visitors, and sights that are rarely seen by the naked eye. This cluster of islands is a living museum of natural history that reveals enchanting natural spectacles, where fauna rule the roost and nature has been left to take its course…

Bucket-list-worthy Islands

The Galápagos archipelago comprises over a hundred islets and rocks, with 13 major islands. Here are some of the must-visit islands across this ecological wonderland…

San Cristóbal

The easternmost island is San Cristóbal — the closest to Ecuador and the first island that Darwin chanced upon in 1835. San Cristóbal is home to marine iguanas, fur seals, blue and red footed boobies. In the waters, you’ll see dolphins, sharks and countless unique fish. Head to Punta Pitt for impressive views on the shores, where you’ll catch stunning panoramas and plenty of wildlife, while underwater adventures await at Kicker Rock — enjoy a breathtaking aqua-experience up-close and personal with manta rays, turtles and sharks!

Isabela Island

Isabela is the largest of the Galápagos islands, with a seahorse shape formed by six volcanoes. The massive island prides itself on being the only place in the Northern Hemisphere where the penguin can be in its natural habitat. You can also spot giant tortoises as you explore! Albeit its extensive size, Isabela isn’t often frequented by tourists as it’s categorised as one of the younger islands and for its volcanic activity. With its tranquil and less-crowded character, it makes a perfect destination for travellers seeking a remote escape!

Santa Cruz

As the second-largest island, Santa Cruz offers eclectic offerings to get up to and has become the buzzing hub for tourist activity. This island is home to the world-famous Tortuga Bay, one of the most picturesque beaches in the archipelago that rivals any of South America’s finest — its unspoiled white sands are the epitome of postcard-perfect, and relaxing on the warm shores, you’re likely to be joined by an array of incredible wildlife! Santa Cruz is also the site of the UNESCO-founded Charles Darwin Research Station, which houses a baby-tortoise enclosure.

Embrace Anticipation

Embrace Anticipation

Stepping ashore on the Galápagos Islands, you’re welcomed into a world where human interference has been kept to a minimum. Each stop will reveal enchanting natural spectacles, from calm tropical beaches to fascinating nesting land iguanas. Follow the steps of Charles Darwin and see for yourself what sparked his radical and groundbreaking theory of evolution!

Unlike many other destinations, it isn’t the culture or the ancient history that brings your cruising adventure to life in Galápagos but the uniqueness of the exotic haven —  dwelling about 9,000 exceptional and rare species that aren’t found anywhere else in the world. Of course, these aren’t all just found on the land, but also in the surrounding waters which are home to large schools of barracudas, manta rays, hammerheads, whale sharks and more!

A Galápagos cruise will let you explore the isolated islands inaccessible by island-hopping. Only on a journey to this magnificent archipelago can you combine up-close-and-personal with Mother Nature’s best offerings and the indulgent, extravagant relaxed way of holidaying that you get on board a luxury cruise ship...

Admire the Pinnacle Rock at Bartolomé Island

The Pinnacle Rock is a photographer’s paradise — a volcanic rock formation on the island of Bartolomé.  For panoramic views of the surrounding scenery, you must hike the 65-step wooden stairs to reach the volcanic cone, where you can admire the nearby islands and the awe-inspiring Pinnacle Rock jutting out of the ocean. Be sure to also bring binoculars to glimpse at some eye-catching animals like penguins, sea lions, starfish, and anemones!

Galápagos birdwatching

One of the best locations on Earth for birdwatching is the Galápagos — home to 174 peculiar bird species and 26 native birds that are endemic only to the islands, including Darwin’s finches. Channel your inner ornithologist and observe a variety of winged species, such as penguins, pink flamingos, blue and red footed boobies, Nazca boobies and migrant birds! Birding happens all year-round, so you can see the entire bird nesting process any time of the year.

Soak up some sun on the red shores of Rabida Island

A contrast of colours will wow you at Rabida Island! Marvel at the azure  blue waters gently lapping on the iconic red beach. The deep red colouring of the sand is an aftermath of the iron-rich volcanic material on the island. Along the shores, you’ll meet a rowdy colony of sea lions and other land birds sunbathing on the shores. A saltwater lagoon is tucked away behind the extraordinary beach, where pretty pink flamingos are perched perilously…

Galápagos Islands FAQs

What country is the Galápagos Islands in?

The cluster of islands is part of Ecuador in South America, set around 600 miles off the mainland coast.

When is the best time to cruise the Galápagos Islands?

There’s no bad time to visit the Galápagos and sailings run year-round. However, December to May are generally the best months for a cruise, when the weather is warmer and the sea is calmer. There may be light rain, but the bloom of vegetation and turtle nesting make the experience worth it. December is also the hatching season for giant tortoises. Alternatively, June through November brings less rain and average highs of 25⁰C. The water can be a little bit choppier but is worth bearing as this is the mating season for many birds, including the waved albatross, blue-footed boobies and short-eared owls.

What’s so special about the Galápagos Islands?

The rich and unspoiled biodiversity, with little to no human disturbance, draws many tourists to the remote islands every year. The Galápagos archipelago is an exotic haven where an abundance of rare species exclusive to the islands can be found, including the giant tortoises, marine iguanas, Darwin’s finches, waved albatross and more. The site also inspired the world-famous naturalist, Charles Darwin, in formulating his revolutionary theory of evolution and natural selection.

What is the weather like in the Galápagos Islands?

Although the archipelago is on the equator, it has a mix of tropical and semi-arid climate. The temperatures remain fairly mild with an average temperature of 24°C in daytime. The warm season typically runs from January to May, while the dry season is from June to November.

How many days do you need in Galápagos Islands?

Travel experts recommend 7 to 10 days to cover the highlights of the islands. You can extend your stay for up to 14 days for a well-rounded experience.
