Fuerteventura Cruises

Bask in the beaches & big dunes

Although not as frequented as Tenerife and Gran Canaria, a Fuerteventura cruise has all the charms for a fantastic holiday – the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle! It’s the second largest among the Canary Islands of Spain, so expect a plethora of things to do with endless thrilling adventures on the sun-baked and windswept island. The excellent combination of white sand, emerald-green waters and pleasant weather make this tropical paradise an idyllic beach getaway spot in Europe!

Cruises to Fuerteventura Island lay anchor at Puerto Del Rosario, the island’s small and quiet capital and port town with beautiful murals and artworks adorning its quaint streets. The island’s main claim of fame is the Corralejo Natural Park, featuring a sweeping stretch of beaches and dunes – the largest dune spread in the whole of the Canaries! Looking to soak in serenity? Let your hair down in Caleta de Fuste, a laid-back resort town with a long sandy beach ideal for swimming and sunbathing, and a promenade lined with restaurants and cafes. Meanwhile, history buffs and culture enthusiasts can visit La Olivia and Betancuria – both cities are steeped with rich heritage and sights that offer a glimpse into the island’s fascinating past and traditions.

Fuerteventura Cruise Highlights

Morro Jable

Swing by Morro Jable, a charming town on the southern coast of Fuerteventura, which packs a punch of must-see attractions and must-try activities! Here, you’ll find the active white-coated lighthouse guiding the ships around the coast. Walk across the picturesque wooden bridge to get to the iconic lighthouse and marvel at the breathtaking ocean panorama. This town is also home to the open-air museum where tourists can admire the famous sculpture of a skeleton of the sperm whale!

Corralejo Natural Park

Corralejo Natural Park is Fuerteventura’s crown jewel – home to the biggest dunes in the Canary Islands spread out in stark contrast to the vast expanse of fine white sands bathed by the crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean. If you’re staying in Corralejo, you’d drive by the magnificent dunes on your way to your hotel! This sprawling natural park is situated about 15 miles away from Puerto De Rosario, making it an ideal shore excursion destination on your Fuerteventura cruise.

Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura

Located in the town of La Lajita, in the south of the island, Oasis Park is the only animal park in the island. It also contains a landscaped botanical garden, specializing in tropical and subtropical plants, as well as succulents and cactuses. Get up close and personal with the animals in the zoo, such as lemurs, camels and giraffes, and catch amazing shows with sea lions and birds. There’s also a market on site every Sunday, selling handcrafts, local agricultural products and traditional pastries.

Things To Do in Fuerteventura

Wander the streets of Puerto Del Rosario

This is Fuerteventura’s delightful capital and main port, dotted with white-washed buildings and open-air artworks. Although almost always overlooked, this capital city is brimming with sights and things to do! Wandering the streets of Puerto Del Rosario, you’ll pass by the vibrant street art and murals on the white walls, the minimalist Our Lady of the Rosary Church, and about 150 sculpted statues erected throughout the city. You can also stroll along the beautiful promenade to chill out and breathe fresh air!

Enjoy beach-hopping in the island

It’s undeniable that Fuerteventura boasts a host of white-sand beaches and year-round sunshine cooled by the constant winds. El Castillo is perfect if you’re after a peaceful vibe and tranquil waters lapping on the soft golden sands. A wild corner awaits in Playa de la Escalera, a remote beach suitable for those who want to avoid large crowds but there are not many amenities in the area given its isolated nature. Meanwhile, Playa del Matorral is complete with facilities like sunbeds, umbrellas and a beach bar – so all that’s left is for you to enjoy the sun!

Discover the spectacular formations in Ajuy

Ajuy is a small outlying fishing village, famed for its unique black sandy beach, geologically significant rocks and the spectacular sea caves formed from the erosion caused by waves over the time. Whilst here, it’s a quintessential experience to discover the Cretaceous rocks of the Ajuy Caves dating back to 100 million years! Admire the towering rock formations, intricate tunnels and consolidated dunes, and be sure to sample the freshest  seafood after an action-packed trek!
