Vietnam Cruise Highlights

Ha Long Bay

Ha Long Bay is one of the world’s natural wonders – with a thousand floating islands, emerald waterways and the infamous legend of a dragon in the ocean! This UNESCO World Heritage Site comprises some 1,600 islands and islets. Recognized for the gorgeous limestone mountains that soar above the jade-coloured waters, Ha Long Bay is a real natural wonder formed by time. Explore the incredible caves and uninhabited islands, tucked away in the far-flung areas of the bay.

Hoi An Old Town

A perfect example of a well-preserved South Eastern trading port on the central Vietnamese coast – Hoi An is an atmospheric and historic city, boasting grand architecture and a relaxed ambience away from the city buzz. The city’s main attraction is the Old Town, home to over 800 centuries-old buildings and is cut through with quaint canals. Some of the acclaimed dites here include the Fujian Assembly Hall, a multi-chamber hall adorned with ornate sculptures and drawings, and the Tan Ky House, displaying various ethnic influences in a Vietnamese home, including traditional Chinese poems suspended from the ceiling and the living area’s Japanese-influenced design.

Cu Chi Tunnel

Cu Chi Tunnels is an immense network of connecting tunnels that were used by Viet Cong soldiers during the Vietnamese War. These series of underground tunnels served as hideouts and routes for communication and supplies across the township of Cu Chi and the surrounding areas. Now, visitors can crawl around the hiding spots and dugout trenches to completely immerse themselves in the region’s military history and experience what life was like for the soldiers during the war.

Local Cuisine

Local Cuisine

Vietnamese cuisine is known for its age-old recipes and simplicity, distinguished by a delicate balance of flavours. Vietnamese dishes rival those of Thai, in diverse flavour, and there are only a few places outside of Vietnam that could ever replicate the quality. From street delicacies to five star buffets, Vietnam offers a wide range of food that is sure to tantalise your taste buds. Wherever you travel across the country, you’ll surely find delicious fare and good eats!

  • Enjoy a seafood feast in Nha Trang, the seafood capital of Vietnam – fresh fish and shellfish are the highlight of many meals in the coastal resort city, usually served in streetside eateries up to high-class restaurants.
  • Treat yourself to a bowl of Vietnam’s staple dish, Pho (noodle soup), and savour the thickness of the light beef or chicken broth sprinkled with a dash of chilli flakes for extra spice.
  • Pop into a bakery or a street eatery and grab some Banh Mi – the Vietnamese version of French baguette that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, filled with pickled vegetables, herbs, cold cuts and sauces!

Things to Do in Vietnam

Enjoy various water sports in Mui Ne

Mui Ne is a quant beach resort town, blessed with a palm-lined stretch of sand and steady wind conditions – perfect for kitesurfing, windsurfing and sailing on its tropical-ocean waters! It’s a popular getaway from Ho Chi Minh City, where you can soak up the enchanting contrasts of local Vietnamese charm and modern urban spirit. When you’re not braving the adrenaline-fueled water sports, you can go sandboarding in the Red Sand Dunes or take a sunrise tour of the White Sand Dunes.

Lounge on the white-sand beaches of Phu Quoc

Lying along the Gulf of Thailand, Phu Quoc boasts palm-fringed beaches and luxury resorts where you can lounge and find respite. Sunseekers will be delighted to bask on the warm waters and tropical weather. Bai Truong, commonly referred to as Long Beach, is the longest stretch on the island – the perfect spot to watch the westward sunset with a cocktail on hand. Sao Beach captivates visitors with its beauty and charm, dotted with umbrellas and lounge chairs where you can relax under the sun.

Go city-hopping from Chan May

Chan May is the cruise port for the cities of Hue and Da Nang, so you can easily go for a quick city-hopping. Hue was the ancient capital of Vietnam, steeped with historical sites, from impressive citadels to serene pagodas – offering travellers a glimpse into the country’s royal past. Located on the banks of Perfume River, a leisurely stroll on Truong Tien Bridge will make you feel refreshed. On the contrary, Da Nang is backed by the breathtaking Marble Mountains. Whilst here, be sure to cross the iconic 500-foot-long arched Golden Bridge overlooking the Ba Na Hills.
