Cruise News: Norwegian Encore to Undergo Extensive Enhancements in a Two-Week Dry Dock

These large-scale upgrades to the Breakaway-Plus class ship will take place during a two-week dry dock between 18 November and 02 December 2024. Following this, guests can look forward to a new, complimentary outdoor lounge, which integrates the guest-favourite amenities of Spice H20 from select Breakaway Plus class ships, with those from Infinity Beach of the latest Prima class vessels. The adult-only oasis will offer an elevated relaxation experience, complete with multiple hot tubs and eight large day beds surrounded by cooling pools, and a bar serving delicious cocktails. 

Norwegian Encore is also set to expand two of its most popular speciality restaurants on board, Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki, to increase guest capacity by repurposing space currently occupied by Los Lobos and Coco’s. Additionally, Ocean Blue will be transformed into Palomar, an à la carte dining venue found on Norwegian Prima class ships, offering exceptional Mediterranean seafood cuisine in an ambient setting.

Furthermore, the 4,000-passenger ship will debut from its dry dock with an additional 24 new balcony staterooms and redesigned suites in its premier ship-within-a-ship complex, The Haven. Similar to the notable changes made to its sister-ship Norwegian Joy, the Premier Owner’s Suites with Large Balcony will be expanded from two bedrooms into three. The suites will feature three and a half bathrooms; a fully renovated living room, master bedroom and outdoor balcony furniture; and a new separate dining room.

As soon as the Norwegian Encore resumes operation after a two-week halt, she is expected to embark on a 12-day transatlantic voyage from Southampton, United Kingdom to Miami, Florida.
