Curaçao Cruises

Discover Willemstad and more

Culture seekers will find their ideal escape in Curaçao, one of the windswept ABC Islands — part of our bucket-list-worthy Caribbean islands — where you’ll enjoy sunny weather even during the rainy season, with steady wind conditions ensuring great kitesurfing and windsurfing experiences! Just like its sister islands, this sun-drenched Caribbean gem is known for its tropical beaches tucked into coves, as well as its warm waters and expansive coral reefs teeming with marine life.

On an exciting voyage to Curaçao, you’ll dock in the UNESCO-recognised capital of Willemstad — where you can embrace Dutch heritage, under the Caribbean sun, as you explore the island’s colourful architecture and delightful museums. The port city bursts with colour and life, with pastel-painted colonial buildings lining the waterfront of Sint Anna Bay and massive murals adorning the street walls. It’s also the gateway to Blue Bay, one of the most famous beaches in the island and a diver’s paradise. Another popular attraction is the Hato Caves, a spectacular cave system where nature meets history. From secluded beaches and idyllic coves to intriguing history and rich culture, a Curaçao cruise lets you have a taste of it all…

Curaçao Cruise Highlights

Queen Emma Bridge

Also dubbed as the “Swinging Old Lady,” Queen Emma Bridge is a remarkable floating bridge in Willemstad connecting the quaint neighbourhoods of Punda and Otrobanda. The pedestrian-only bridge is supported by pontoon boats and periodically swings open to let ships pass through and leave the bay. It detaches from the land when it opens so you’re literally “stuck in the middle” as you cannot exit either side until it reattaches itself — a one-of-a-kind experience that adds to the many charms of this landmark!

Hato Caves

Get ready for an adventure like no other through mystical corridors at Hato Caves — an impressive cave system leading past limestone formations, sparkling pools, gorgeous waterfalls and ancient paintings. These prominent caves were formed below sea level millions of years ago and were used as a refuge by runaway slaves, so you can absorb the wonderful fusion of nature and history as you walk through the narrow passages and caverns. The caves are accessible to the public from 9 am to 3 pm daily.

Handelskade

Handelskade is a breathtaking stretch of waterfront in Punda lined with brightly-coloured Dutch buildings and picturesque alfresco areas. Pull up a chair at an outdoor cafe and sip a cup of coffee while admiring the postcard-perfect scenery of bobbing boats on the turquoise waters — you may even catch the iconic spectacle of Queen Emma Bridge splitting open to allow the passage of vessels. Be sure to pop into a boutique shop and browse for souvenirs or purchase some local fresh goods in the daily floating market!

Things to Do in Curaçao

Enjoy a unique shopping spree in Punda

Punda is a historic district of Willemstad, steeped with Dutch colonial architecture, retail stores and cosy cafes. Wander down the cobblestone streets of Punda and satisfy your shopping needs while soaking up the Old-world charm of the area. One of the most interesting shops in this district is the floating market, where merchants dock their boats to sell fresh local produce on shore. Watch the picturesque neighbourhood transform into a vibrant hub every Thursday night as outdoor markets, live music and local folk dance performances fill the peaceful streets.

Laze on the beautiful Westpunt beaches

There’s a plethora of beautiful beaches in this Caribbean island, but Westpunt offers some of the best ones — boasting rugged coastlines, powdery white sands, stunning cliffs and crystal-clear waters. Playa Kali is a small cove nicknamed “Alice in Wonderland” for its distinct mushroom-shaped coral formations and it’s also a popular snorkelling and diving spot. If you want to escape the crowds, head to Playa Jeremi — a secluded beach and cove with a serene atmosphere. Another intimate area is Playa Lagun, where you can spot an array of colourful boats and swim with sea turtles.

Discover the wonders of the Blue Room

Divers will be delighted to explore Curaçao’s breathtaking underwater world called the Blue Room — the largest sea cave in the island famed for its deep blue colour caused by the sunlight refracting off the waters and cave walls. Take a snorkelling tour of the Blue Room Cave, where you’ll find small schools of fish and occasional sightings of lobster. Be captivated by this extraordinary natural phenomenon as you witness the magical display of the ever-changing shades of blue.
