Maldives Cruises

Plan the Perfect Maldives Holiday

Maldives is a slice of paradise in South Asia, boasting miles of pristine white coral sand and balmy turquoise seas. This postcard-perfect sun-kissed haven is the smallest country in Asia – home to 1,200 islands that are spread out over 26 coral atolls. The combined land of all the islands is little more than 100 square miles – that means you are rarely more than a few steps from the beach!

Malé is the capital and main cruise port for Maldives, brimming with beautiful landscapes and rich culture. Many of the villas are built on stilts out over the water, so you may actually have to walk onshore in order to get to the beach. Besides curling your toes in the sand, many people come here to sample the Maldives' enviable world-class dive spots!

Whether you wish to go on an idyllic island-hopping adventure across the Indian Ocean or soak up Asia’s exotic charm, there’s plenty of ways to enjoy your Maldives cruise.

Things to Do in Maldives

Settle on a water villa

Looking for a unique and luxury accommodation? Maldives' overwater bungalows and villas are a top-notch choice! Originally from Tahiti in French Polynesia, these romantic hideaways on stilts have been a staple on Maldives holidays – one of the best things to do in Maldives for couples! These suspended retreats also offer direct access to lagoons, so you can conveniently take a relaxing dip whenever the waters call for you. There’s plenty of options for your luxury water villa, ranging from cosy couple rooms to spacious family accommodations – all offering that ultimate castaway vibe you’re seeking for!

Apart from the sun-kissed beaches and endless blue waters, Maldives boasts a rich tapestry of cultural heritage that awaits to be discovered. Get a glimpse of the Maldivian local lifestyle and traditions through guided tours, visiting indigenous islands, native markets and ancient mosques. The Grand Friday Mosque is the largest and grandest mosque in the island country, with a striking architecture to boast. The majestic mosque is built with pure white marble, adorned with gold accents and a golden dome. Dominating the city skyline, this iconic white-washed structure also offers panoramic views of the sea!

Meander around Malé

From exploring the Grand Friday Mosque and Victory Monument to bargaining in local markets, there’s a plethora of things to do in Male – the vibrant capital and main cruise port of  Maldives! Malé is home to a variety of lively flea and street markets like Malé Fish Market, which is always abuzz with activities and people. Considered the pulsating soul of the capital, this fish market is where you can source an assortment of the freshest seafood and fish directly from the adjacent harbour, such as yellow-fin tunas and huge octopuses. Meanwhile, Malé Local Market is the ideal spot to find fresh vegetables and fruits.

Go underwater

With Maldives' endless stretch of blues and premier dive spots, going underwater is one of the experiences you shouldn’t miss out on! Its crystal-clear waters are teeming with abundant marine life and colourful coral gardens, accessible via different means. Don your snorkel gear and get up close and personal with diverse aquatic life, including turtles, manta rays and whale sharks. If you’re not after snorkeling or diving, discover the breath-taking underwater world of Maldives without getting wet on a kayak or a boat ride, inviting you to a hassle-free and optimal ocean viewing adventure! For a unique experience, why not dine in one of the underwater restaurants of Maldives while watching the ocean world go by before your eyes?
