Tenerife Cruises

Discover the largest Canary Island

Tenerife is the largest island in the Canary Archipelago – home to Mount Teide, an extinct volcano whose summit is the highest point in Spain! It’s been awarded a World Heritage status and is surrounded by truly magnificent views. The brave can hike up it, with local guides giving you an unforgettable, in-depth experience. A Tenerife cruise offers a thousand of fantastic experiences – ride a cable car to the peak’s summit, unwind in nature with a cocktail, participate in the big pre-Lent festivals with parades or play golf on one of its many pristine courses.

Upon arrival in Tenerife’s main port and energetic capital, Santa Cruz, there are a couple of things you can’t miss! Swing by the Auditorio de Tenerife Opera House as soon as you're docked – an impressive auditorium built in 2003 and designed by world-famous architect Santiago Calatrava. Then head to Plaza de España, not far from the waterfront and the city centre, featuring a huge artificial central lake and the ruins of Castle of San Cristobal. To the north of Santa Cruz, you’ll find Taganana and the Anaga Mountains in the stunning rural area, worth exploring by car or by foot. And finally, if you’re after idyllic beaches, be sure to find white-sand beach of Playa de las Teresitas and black-sand beach of Playa la Arena. Get your suitcase ready for an adventure full of wonder in the largest Canary Island gem!

Tenerife Cruise Highlights

Auditorio de Tenerife Opera House

Perhaps Tenerife’s best architectural feat, Auditorio de Tenerife Opera House welcomes visitors as soon as their ship lays anchor in the port of Santa Cruz. This avante-garde structure is a masterpiece by a Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, displaying a unique shape and a sparkly appearance. You can simply take a snap with the exterior or go as far as step inside the building for more! Catch it in the dark, for a particularly impressive snapshot of the opera house, arc lights in contrast with the night sky.

Mount Teide

Mount Teide prides itself on being the world’s third-tallest volcano, looming over the island’s horizon and creating a breathtaking spectacle whenever you lay your eyes! From the base, you can take a trip to the summit through an adventurous hike on foot or onboard a cable car that allows you to soak up the views as you climb skywards. Bike tours are also available for cyclists who fancy more thrills, and braving a paragliding flight is ideal for those looking for a little bit more adrenaline!

Siam Park

Siam Park is argued to be one of the best water parks in Europe and the world. Highlighting an interesting Thai theme and architecture, it’s fun for adults and children alike! This giant water park boasts a host of exhilarating rides, ranging from tall free-fall slides and thrilling artificial wave pools to raging river rapids. If you’re not into action-packed experiences and looking for something more relaxing, you can float down the lazy river or bask in the sun on Siam Beach. Families tagging their little ones along will also enjoy watching the sea lions playing around the sea lion pool.

Things To Do In Tenerife

Wander around the old town of Santa Cruz

History buffs and culture vultures can roam around the old town, where you’ll find the colonial Church of the Immaculate Conception, the 18th-century Pa lacio de Carta that fuses Baroque and neoclassical style, and the Tenerife Arts Space, showcasing photography and artwork. You can also visit several fascinating museums in Santa Cruz, including the military museum and the quirky ARTlandya. Don’t miss the quintessential shopping and sightseeing experience in Calle Castillo, the capital’s vibrant hub packed with an extensive array of shops, restaurants and architectural sites.

Take a breather at Palmetum

Hosting a vast collection of palm trees, Palmetum is the  perfect place to breathe fresh air and wind down with nature in the bustling city! This 30-acre nature area was once a garbage dump until it was transformed into a beautiful botanical garden that it is today. Wandering around Palmetum, you’ll catch amazing views of the world-famous auditorium and the sea beyond. This place is a paradise for relaxation seekers who want to escape the buzz of the vibrant capital!

Discover the mysteries of Pyramids of Güímar

Discover the mysteries that the Pyramids of Güímar hold dating back to the 19th century. These six lava stone monuments are entangled in many different theories and legends, and no one has yet to find out the exact purpose and date of its construction. The six rectangular layers form a pyramid shape out of its terraced structure, giving the similar vibe and look with the Aztec temples in Mexico. You can also drop by the on-site museum to learn more about excavations done to trace the landmark’s beginnings.
