For nature lovers, take a boat trip to the well-known Stingray City, where you can snorkel in the warm, depthless waters alongside the huge stingrays — tour operators provide buckets of bait so you can feed these gentle giants! The “city” is actually a shallow sandbar with no penned enclosures, offering visitors a one–of-a-kind opportunity to have close encounters with wild Atlantic stingrays. And while the stingrays are the stars of the sandbar, the coral garden hosts a thriving marine life, so you’re guaranteed some of the most dramatic views of the underwater scenery as you sail the sea above.
Bloody Bay Marine Park is one of the much-loved dive spots in the Cayman Islands, home to massive underwater walls swathed in coral. Its namesake wall is the park’s main attraction, offering a breathtaking dive experience with marine life sightings! This submerged mountain range has a vertical drop-off that plunges a mind-blowing over 6,000 feet to the seafloor, and the top of this wall is where you’ll get to marvel at amazing creatures like octopus and sailfin blennies.
Don your snorkel and admire the sunken “Kittiwake” — an ex-US Navy submarine which was sunk on purpose in 2011 and is now a renowned diving site! The submerged ship and artificial reef can be found off the coast of the world-renowned Seven Mile Beach, appealing to many scuba divers with its incredible sea life! Snorkelers can also enjoy viewing the sunken ship as it’s visible from near the surface.
George Town, set on Grand Cayman, is the three-island archipelago's capital and a port of call for cruise ships. As soon as you dock, you’ll be welcomed by a charming waterfront harbour lined with colourful wooden buildings. Be sure to visit the Cayman Islands National Museum, where you can learn about the island’s local culture, history and arts. You can also shop for delicacies and souvenirs in the farmer’s market.
